Story of a Trailer accident (ECP/ 01April2011, 1:55pm) in pictures (P1)

Photos taken today (1April2011), ECP-Changi Airport before Marine Vista exit.
Accident not witnessed by author, heard sound only at 1:55pm,
Arrived and took photos on site once at at 2.34pm and again at then again at 5:10pm.

Based on vehicular positioning and damage, it is assumed that the trailer lost control after hitting a stationary lorry, before hitting a car subsequently.

The purpose of publishing these photos is both to aid investigation as well as provide a public resource for teaching on road safety and courtesy.

The accident originally caused ECP to be totally impassable though by author's arrival, the right most lane was opened to clear the road. Buses and Trailers passed by gingerly and the road upstream sealed to facilitate removal of the damaged vehicles.

An ambulance was seen to arrive at approx 2:28pm but from afar, no stretcher was seen used.

The road was subsequently cleared in stages and the damaged prime mover towed away at 5.39pm.

This author overheard the driver of the new prime mover (Speedway Logistics Company) that the container aboard the trailer was an empty one.

This accident could perhaps have been much worse had the container been a loaded one.

Road safety is important in the use of roads for transport by both commercial and private vehicular traffic and road safety should remain paramount in the minds of all road users.

Persons are free to use and publish these photos for research and reporting purposes provide that a token credit of source be made.
